Waiting on God

This morning I got a message from God to wait on Him. Have patience. God isn't in a hurry. God has everything under control.

All through the Bible you can read of stories of God's faithfulness to His children:
The story of Joseph in Genesis and the story of Abraham waiting to become a father are just two examples.

Joseph was imprisoned in Egypt for around 17 years, through no fault of his own. All the while God was with him and setting up the circumstances for when Joseph would be free. God would ultimately use him to save an entire generation of people from starvation.

Abraham waited about 25 years for God to fulfill the promise of Sarah and him having a child. Again, God was setting up all the circumstances for the right time. Through that one child came millions of people and hundreds of generations.

When I keep my focus on God and don't look at all the circumstances swirling around me, I have peace and contentment. I have hope that God is busy right now setting up my circumstances to give me a great story of restoration.

I'm in some good company waiting on God.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.          Ephesians 3:20,21

Everything we need comes from God

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

I woke up this morning with the words of one of my favorite songs on my mind.I love to sing the song while I'm driving, it always turns into worship and puts a smile on my face. I'm sure God is smiling too.
Mark Schultz - "All Things Possible" Below is a couple verses.

"And when life knocks me down
I am not counted out
For You're with me"

"My God is strong and mighty
My God is faithful
My hope is in the Lord
For He is able"

I have no doubt God put the song on my mind this morning because life has knocked me down. You see I am looking for full time employment and wanting to start a new career - which has been going on now for a year and a half. I graduated from college in Dec. 2011 with hopes of starting a new career. I've had a couple temporary jobs since then, but nothing permanent. Recently a contract job I had came to an end.

What has got me down is not having to look for a job, but that there are not very many good and credible job opportunities available. I have never liked job hunting, but now it seems almost impossible. That's where God comes in, if something is impossible for us - it's not impossible for God. God and I make a majority. God and you make a majority. God can open doors for you when it looks like all the doors are locked or when there are no more doors, He can make a door and open it for you.

I know that anything is possible with God. I know that God is in control. I know that God causes everything to work together for my good and His glory.

I just don't know why He won't give me a job. I know He can. He is telling me to trust Him. The funny thing is that even though things are the way they are - no job, no prospects, debt, the roof needs fixing, the car needs new brakes, husband needs new glasses - I still have peace and I have hope in God. You see, the God I serve can turn things around in the blink of an eye. I don't know why things are the way they are, but I know the Lord God Almighty.
